History Page My name is Dawn Hickey & I am a fully trained & registered Civil Marriage Celebrant. I am familiar with the Northern Beaches, its bays, parks & reception venues. I worked for the Legal Aid Commission of NSW for many years & am fully conversant with the Marriage Act guidelines & documentation. I am currently employed as a Casual teacher at Mosman High School (adult education - IT subjects). I am registered with the NSW Registry of Births, Deaths & Marriages as an on-line Celebrant. This means that your documents are registered & receipted by email within hours of your Ceremony taking place. A Notice of Intended Marriage & forms of Declaration must be completed no less than one calendar month & one day before the date of the Marriage. I provide all forms. A Local Court Magistrate can agree to a Shortening of Time in special circumstances. For each of you, if born in Australia I need to sight original Birth Certificate - if born overseas, a Birth Certificate and/or Passport, issued by another country other than Australia. If previously married you need to produce original Divorce document or Death Certificate of previous spouse. All documentation must be in English (document translations by accredited Translators are permitted). You should both be over the age of 18 years. If under 18 years, one person must be 18 years & special provisions apply to the person under 18 years. For couples where one person is overseas, then the person in Australia can complete the forms within the time limit & the other person can complete forms on arrival in Australia.
